In 1977, in the small town of Crozet, Virginia, Bob and Karen Crum and their four children renovated an old building that had gone unoccupied for years, turning it into a small pizza restaurant.
When Crozet Pizza opened, it had a mere five tables, all hand built by Bob Crum himself. Before opening, Karen Crum perfected the Crozet Pizza dough recipe that is still made daily at both locations.
For 31 years, Mr. Crum handmade every pizza that was served, one by one. As its popularity grew, people began to call in days ahead to order one of Crozet Pizza’s delicious pies.
